WRITING A BOOK OR A FILM REVIEW (6TH PRIMARY)

In UNIT 4 students are learning how to write a film, play or book review. Here you have an exemple of my favourite book and film reviews. Have a look!!!

 My favourite book is "THE ALCHEMIST". I read it some years ago. The author is Paulo Coelho. He's brazilian. I really enjoyed the book. Santiago was an andalusian shepherd who had the same dream every night. One day, he decided to look for his dream travelling around lots of countries to find a treasure. He was very confident and kind. He was more generous than many people he found in his trip. He was the least mean character in the book. 

This book talks about the sense of life and how we have to fight for our dreams. 

My favourite film is "Ocho Apellidos Vascos". I watched it in the cinema the last year and I had a very good time. It was a comedy directed by Emilio Martinez Lazaro. 
In the film, Rafa, a sevillian waiter met Amaia, a basque girl and he fell in love.
Rafa was very kind and extrovert. He was kinder and more extrovert than Amaia. She was more unfriendly than Rafa. Her father was the unfriendliest character in the film.
The film was very funny and lively. I love it!!!

READING BIG NUMBERS (5TH PRIMARY)

In UNIT 3 we are reading texts with many numbers. It is important to improve the speed in reading including numbers and years that sometimes make more difficult the reading task. Here you have some interesting information you have to remember to say the numbers very quickly.

1000 = one thousand
100 = one hundred

3257 = three thousand two hundred and fifty-seven

5891 = five thousand eight hundred and ninety-one

On the other hand, we normally read the years two by two:

Dear Class 5A/B,

Last summer holidays I went to Norway. It was fantastic!!! The countryside in Norway is amazing!!! There were big lakes and there was a waterfall. There was a bench in a path next to the lake. There were some mountains and glaciers over there. There was a small village in the valley and there were two cruise boats in the lake. There were some flowers near the lake and there was a path in a beautiful wood. There were many trees in the wood, but there weren't any animals. The weather wasn't sunny or hot, it was cloudy and cold!!! It was great!!!
